Can modafinil be as good as ritalin?

Ritalin causes me a lot of vasoconstriction and I have side effects even at low doses.

My own experience is that modafinil is very subtle compared to Ritalin. I do not really feel it coming on after I take it-I just realize a couple hours later that I feel more awake and alert than I might otherwise feel. I never feel high on it at all. I just feel "normal" and awake. After it wears off towards the end of the day, I am able to sleep well on it.
Ritalin made me feel a bit more "buzzy", more like I was on speed. There was a definite crash when it wore off-which I don't feel with Modafinil-yet it had a tendency to keep me awake at night.
